Privacy Policy
Cadence is a local-first app published by VolNix (volnix.io). It runs on your own computer. In short: VolNix does not collect, receive or sell your data. This page explains what Cadence stores, where, and who else sees it.
1. What Cadence stores on your computer
- Connected account details: the account name and ID a platform returns when you sign in (for TikTok: your username and the posting options your account allows), plus the access and refresh tokens Cadence needs to post for you.
- Your content: brands, drafts, captions, generated images, schedules and post history.
- App credentials: the developer keys you enter for each platform and AI provider.
All of this is in a database on your computer. Tokens and secrets are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key that stays on that machine. Nothing is sent to VolNix.
2. Data from TikTok and other platforms
When you connect TikTok, Cadence asks only for the permissions it needs to identify your account and publish the posts you approve (user.info.basic and video.publish). Cadence uses this data only to show which account is connected and to publish to it. It does not read your followers, messages or viewing history, and it never sells or shares platform data.
3. Who else receives data
- The platforms you post to receive the posts you approve, through their official APIs.
- Your AI provider (for example Claude, Codex or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure) receives the prompts used to draft posts, such as your brand details and topics.
- Your media host (optional, such as a Supabase storage bucket you own) holds images that platforms like TikTok and Instagram must download from a public URL.
Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy. You choose and control them.
4. Analytics and tracking
Cadence contains no telemetry, ads or tracking. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
5. Retention and deletion
Data stays on your computer until you delete it. Removing an account in Cadence deletes its tokens. Uninstalling Cadence and removing its data folder deletes everything. You can also revoke access in each platform's settings; for TikTok, go to Settings and privacy, then Security and permissions, then Apps and services permissions.
6. Children
Cadence is not intended for anyone under 18.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the full history is public on GitHub.
